Environmental Field Consultant – Long Beach and Hayward Offices

Description:

  • Entry-level, full-time position available for the right candidate
  • Perfect opportunity for a candidate looking to acquire experience in the environmental consulting field
  • Includes working in the field at customer sites, collecting data and taking water samples
  • Opportunity for growth, including higher-level consulting opportunities, plan writing, sales, and other increased responsibilities for the right candidate

Qualifications :

  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Comfort level with paperwork and familiarity with Southern California are important
  • Willingness to travel, be a self-starter, and a team player
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred, but not required
  • Hazardous Materials or EH&S experience a plus
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license are mandatory

 

 

Industrial Storm Water Consultant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial site visits of proposed project sites
  • Develop new SWPPPs and update existing SWPPPs; including assessing any BMPs in place, identifying BMP deficiencies, designating additional BMPs, identifying pollutant sources, and creating relevant site maps/diagrams
  • Conduct site visits for existing clients to assess site conditions, BMPs in place, and additional BMPs required for compliance with the IGP
  • Verify site compliance with SWPPP, maps and permit conditions
  • Trouble-shoot BMP issues related to the new Permit requirements and compliance
  • Verify site compliance with SWPPP, diagrams, and monitoring records as required by the IGP
  • SMARTS navigation and utilization
  • Field sampling during rain events
  • Occasional travel to Northern California

Successful Candidates Should Have:

  • 2+ years of Industrial Storm Water experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the New Storm Water Industrial General Permit
  • Knowledge of Industrial Best Management Practices (BMPs)
  • Familiarity with industrial facilities and plans
  • Familiarity with field sampling equipment and procedures
  • Familiarity with the state’s SMARTS system
  • Experience writing Industrial SWPPPs is a plus
  • Ability to successfully manage and complete a large volume of work under deadline
  • Strong MS Word, Corel Draw, Google Earth, researching skills, and map interpretation
  • Excellent writing, note taking, and communication skills
  • Must be self-directed, hard-working and a team player
  • Bachelor’s Degree required and in a related field is preferred
  • Must have a valid California Driver’s License with clean driving
